Parent Advocacy
Parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting and advocating for sex education in schools and across the community.
We support opportunities for them to learn about and engage in sex education advocacy efforts across Tulsa.

Our Parent Advocacy Group helps parents and caregivers advocate for sex education in their local schools and communities.
Members receive training on sex education advocacy, preparing them to speak at school board meetings, share their perspective publicly, and engage with local decision-makers.
What to Expect
Members begin with an initial workshop centered around education and advocacy. Workshops include an overview of Amplify Youth Health Collective, an introduction to the landscape of youth sexual health in Oklahoma and Tulsa, a “getting to know your school board” activity, and guidance on building a personal narrative about the importance of sex education.
Every Parent Advocacy Workshop will include a meal and a raffle prize drawing. After completing the initial workshop, parent advocates can participate in sex education advocacy at their own comfort level. Parent Advocacy Group members will also have ongoing opportunities to learn about and support sex education in Tulsa, and can tailor their involvement based on their personal goals and availability.
