Advocacy
We build public support for sex education, and our entire community should be included in this conversation.
We work to get facts, data, and resources into the community.

Regular Public Perception Polling
Since 2013 our organization has partnered with public opinion polling companies to conduct scientific public perception polling on teen pregnancy, sex education, and youth health issues within Tulsa County. We also partner with university researchers to conduct surveys, focus groups and interviews. Results inform our organization and partners on the climate and knowledge of these issues within our community, potential needs, and help us track progress over the years.

Advocacy Campaigns
We utilize public perception polling, partner feedback, and our Youth Leadership Council to inform our communications strategy and develop advocacy campaigns to spread awareness within our community. Examples include:
February
Sex Ed Week of Action
Sex Ed Week of Action is a national week in February focused on learning about sex education and taking meaningful action to support and advocate for it.
April
STI Awareness Month
STI Awareness Month is a national campaign focused on raising awareness about sexually transmitted infections, encouraging testing, and reducing stigma. In past years, Amplify participated through the well loved “Get Tested, Tulsa!” campaign.
May
Sex Ed Week of Action
Sex Ed for All Month is a national call to action to ensure every young person has access to comprehensive, medically accurate, and inclusive sex education.
October
Let’s Talk Month
Let’s Talk Month is a national initiative encouraging open conversations between teens and trusted adults about growing up, relationships, and sexual health.

Advocacy Groups
Amplify’s Youth Leadership Council and Parent Advocacy Group support teens, parents, and caregivers who want to advocate for youth sexual health in Tulsa. Participants learn about the sexual health landscape in Oklahoma, build advocacy skills, and take action to support sex education and expand access to sexual health resources.
